Everything you need to know about volunteering for the block party

When?

Plan on arriving by 4:30 PM on the day you are volunteering.

What?

If you have any questions between now and the Block Party, please call your Block Party Chairperson listed on the contact sheet or the Volunteer Hotline.

Where?

The Volunteer Entrance is at Monroe & Jefferson. Volunteers must enter at this location both nights. Friends/relatives who are not volunteering may not accompany you through this special gate. No tickets are sold at the volunteer entrance.

Note that all volunteers (including those not working) must enter by 8:00 PM on both nights.

Anything Else?

Please wear your volunteer T-shirt on the night you work. Dress comfortably! Wear comfortable shoes!

You can pick up your volunteer t-shirts on Sundays, June 29, July 6 and July 13 after the 8:30, 9:30, 11:15 and 5:00 pm Masses. T-shirts can also be picked up on weekdays from Tuesday, July 8–Thursday, July 17 from 8:30 am–7:00 pm at 711 West Monroe.

Please note that July 17 is the last day to pick up your shirt. T-shirts will not be given out the nights of the Party.

Please do not bring any valuables, purses or bags, as we have no storage or changing area. Purses, backpacks and oversized bags are subject to inspection.

Parking is very limited. If you must drive, there are parking lots located in Greektown off of Halsted Street. For information on public transportation please check our website, http://worldslargestblockparty.com/directions/.

Feel free to join us on Saturday, July 19 at 3:30 p.m. when we gather on the steps of the Church for a special Mass for all our volunteers.

Remember you must be 21 to volunteer and attend the Block Party. You will need to show a valid ID at the Volunteer Check-in. If you have any questions or any problems arise at the last minute, please call your chairperson.
